Tattoos are a form of expression seeming to become more popular as the years go by. According to a 2007 survey, 24% of Americans aged 18-50 have one or more tattoo, and I’m sure that number has increased in more recent years as society has changed. One thing that has not changed, however, is the acceptance of tattoos in the workplace. More often than not, body art and “excessive” piercings are to be hidden or removed in a formal workplace.
What are your thoughts on body art and “normal” piercings? What even constitutes as a normal piercing? The article discusses a woman with a tattoo done in ultraviolet ink that is only visible under a black light, is that a decent alternative? Do you think society is changing its level of acceptance, why or why not?
