Even with a ban on whaling over twenty years old, the Japanese have still found a way to continue their profitable business for whales. By claiming that the whales they catch are for research, they haves been able to kill over 1000 whales a year. Recently, a new television show on Animal Planet has also been released documenting the resistance of whaling. When these whales are obviously being used for commercial purposes, how come no authority has stepped in to stop the Japanese from hunting them?

Clearly looks like they are performing careful research, right?
